Ports and Harbours Bureau, the MLIT, has been taking the initiative in holding review meetings with relevant parties since this June on establishment of an LNG bunkering station at the Port of Yokohama which is used as a model case.
On Oct. 5, 2016, they, along with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and other international port authorities, signed the MoU at the 19th Singapore International Bunkering Conference and Exhibition (SIBCON) concerning formation of harmonized LNG network to develop LNG as a marine fuel. As the members of the committee reviewing the LNG bunkering issues at the Port of Yokohama, the City of Yokohama and YKIP were there as the MoU was signed.
