International Symposium on LNG Bunkering to be held in Yokohama

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) along with relevant parties released
the feasibility study report on the LNG bunkering hub development plan at the Port of Yokohama in
December last year. As a unified team, the national government, the City of Yokohama, Yokohama-Kawasaki
International Port Corporation (YKIP) and other private enterprises have come to an agreement on making
efforts towards realization of an LNG bunkering hub at the Port of Yokohama.
As part of the project, the MLIT and the METI (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) will hold an
International Symposium on LNG Bunkering in Yokohama, co-sponsored by the City of Yokohama and YKIP,
on Monday, April 3, 2017.
Making the Port of Yokohama an LNG Bunkering hub will help us promote the increase in calls at the Port
especially on North American routes in our endeavours to restore the preeminence of Japan’s seaports.
